Outdoor Fabric Banners​

Fabric mesh banners, also known as event scrim, airmesh, polymesh, or duramesh, are outdoor banners made from perforated polyester fabric. Scrim is designed for short-term outdoor use, particularly at events where wind performance, lightweight handling, and fast installation are essential.

Fabric mesh banners are made from perforated polyester fabric. The open weave and wind perforations allow air to pass through the banner easily, significantly reducing wind load and strain on fences, eyelets, and fixings.

Unlike PVC banner mesh, polyester fabric mesh banners are:

• Lighter and easier to transport

   

• Softer and more flexible

   

• Less prone to creasing or scratching

   

• Faster to install and remove

   

• Better suited for repeated short-term event use

   

This makes them ideal for events, festivals, council activations, and touring promotions.

Yes. Fabric mesh banners are specifically designed for windy outdoor conditions. The perforations allow wind to pass through the material, reducing stress on:

Fabric mesh banners are designed for short-term outdoor applications with a typical print life of up to 6 months, depending on:

• Sun exposure

   

• Weather conditions

   

• Frequency of use

   

They are not recommended for long-term permanent outdoor signage.

The polyester fabric itself is not highly UV stable over long periods, which is why it is best suited to short-term event use rather than permanent installations.

Fabric mesh banners are printed using dye sublimation printing. This process:

• Transfers ink directly into the fabric fibres

   

• Produces vibrant, high-definition prints

   

• Delivers excellent colour accuracy and sharp logos

   

Despite the perforations, high-quality photographic images can still be achieved.

Yes. Fabric mesh banners have some show-through, meaning:

• Graphics and messages are partially visible from both sides, the reverse image is seen on the back of the banner.

   

• This is ideal for fence banners and barrier covers where visibility from multiple angles is beneficial
  

No. One of the key advantages of polyester mesh banners is that they:

• Do not crease or wrinkle easily

   

• Do not scratch like PVC mesh

   

• Maintain a clean appearance even after repeated use

Fabric mesh banners are usually installed on:

Reusable banner toggle ties are strongly recommended for fast installation and removal.

1. Fix one top corner of the banner to the fence

    

2. Walk the banner out fully and loosely fix the opposite top corner

    

3. Starting from the first corner, secure the top eyelets sequentially

    

4. Keep fixings tight but not taut to avoid creases or damage

    

5. Once the top is complete, secure the bottom eyelets

    

6. Allow slight slack—wind will naturally tension the banner

    

7. Fix the side eyelets and check for pulling or creasing

    

Important: Never over-tighten cable ties. Leave them one or two notches loose.

Typically, 1–2 people are needed to install fabric mesh banners, depending on the banner size and installation setup:

• Small to medium banners (up to ~2–3 m wide):
  👉 1 person is usually sufficient, especially if the banner has eyelets, toggle ties, or is being attached to an existing frame or fence.
• Large banners (over ~3 m wide or long spans):
  👉 2 people are recommended to keep the banner aligned, apply even tension, and speed up installation.
• High or difficult locations (scaffolding, gantries, windy areas):
  👉 2 people minimum for safety and control.

Fabric mesh banners are lightweight and allow wind to pass through, which makes them easier to handle than solid PVC banners—but having a second person helps ensure a clean, professional finish.
