Custom Printed Marquee Gables: The High-Visibility Roof Gable Signage Your Events Are Missing
Event Branding · Marquee Gables · 7 min read
Your marquee is the biggest thing at the event. But if the gable end is plain white, you’ve spent thousands on a structure and left its most visible face doing nothing.
A custom printed marquee gable fixes that fast. It turns the peaked front and back of your marquee into full-colour signage, seen from across the venue before anyone reaches your stand. And it fits the structure you already have, so you’re not replacing a thing.
What Is A Marquee Gable End?
The gable end panel fills the triangular peak of your marquee or event tent, the highest, most visible position on the structure, custom-printed with your logo and colours.
The gable is the triangular panel that fills the peaked face of a marquee or event tent. It’s the section that runs from the top of the front opening up to the peak of the roof: the highest, most visible part of the structure.
You’ll also hear it called a roof gable, tent gable, or gable end panel. They all refer to the same thing. Most marquees come without a printed gable (or with a plain white one), which is why custom-printed marquee gable signage is such a common upgrade for event companies, councils, and sports clubs that want branded setups without buying new equipment.

Why The Gable Is The Best Branding Position On A Marquee
Height and geometry.
The gable sits at the peak of the structure: elevated above eye level, visible from a distance, and unobstructed by crowd. At a festival, community market, or sports carnival, it’s often the first piece of branding anyone sees from outside the site.
Why the gable outperforms other marquee branding positions

Compare that to a side wall banner (blocked by crowd), a tablecloth (visible only at point of contact), or a valance strip (too low and too narrow for a logo to read at speed). The gable is the part of your setup that reads clearly at 50 metres.
It works on both ends, too. A marquee has a gable at the front and the back, so printing both sides means your branding faces every direction regardless of how the structure is oriented on the day. For sponsors, it’s the placement that delivers actual visibility.
Who Uses Custom Marquee Gables?
Event hire companies. The gable is the most cost-effective way to customise your hire stock. Instead of ordering new canopies for each client, you produce branded gable ends that attach to your standard frames: one set of frames, different gables per event or client. When branding needs refreshing, you replace the gable panel, not the whole structure.
Councils and government event teams. Custom marquee gable signage gives council-branded setups a professional, consistent look across the whole site. Many councils also use gables for sponsor acknowledgement at funded events, where a sponsor’s logo on the gable end is a clear, measurable deliverable.
Sports clubs. At a carnival, fete, or away day, your marquee is the club’s base of operations for the day. A custom printed gable with the club logo, name, and colours makes it look like you belong there rather than pitching up with borrowed gear. Gables hold up across many events without degrading, which suits a club’s budget far better than reprinting material every season.
Corporate activations and trade events. A plain marquee at a trade show signals a last-minute setup. A branded roof gable with your colours and logo says you planned it. When multiple exhibitors are set up side by side, your gable is the beacon that pulls people across the floor.
What To Look For When Ordering A Custom Gable?
Weatherproof material. If your gable is going outdoors, it needs to handle full sun, rain, and wind across a season without fading or going chalky. Weatherproof PVC and dye-sublimated polyester with UV-stable inks are the standard. For coastal events where salt air accelerates material wear, ask specifically about UV and salt-air resistance: a straightforward question that tells you a lot about the supplier.
Single-sided or double-sided print. Single-sided prints the outside face only. Double-sided prints both, which matters when your gable is visible from inside the marquee, at a hospitality tent, council information point, or sponsor activation where people gather under the structure. If your marquee backs against a wall, single-sided saves money. If it’s freestanding, double-sided.
Exact colour matching. Your logo needs to look the same on the gable as it does on your flags, barriers, and signage. Ask for Pantone colour matching so your branding is consistent across the full setup. And make sure the supplier sends a digital proof before they print.
A gable sized to your frame. Gables aren’t sold in standard sizes: the panel has to match your specific frame. A 3x3m pop-up gable is a completely different shape to a 6x3m pagoda, a clearspan event tent, or a large Uniflex structure. Tell the supplier your marquee’s size and brand, or send a photo of the frame, and they’ll calculate the exact dimensions and confirm the fit before printing. If a supplier quotes without asking for that information, that’s a red flag.
How To Order: What You Actually Need
01 Your Marquee Details.
Frame size (e.g. 3x3m, 6x4m) and brand, or a photo of the frame end. That’s how the dimensions get worked out — no measuring required on your end.
02 Your Artwork
A vector file (.ai, .eps, high-res .pdf) is ideal. A .jpg or .png works too — send whatever you have and a good supplier will confirm whether the resolution is sufficient and clean up the file before printing.
03 Your Event Date
Give the supplier your deadline upfront and they’ll confirm turnaround and flag any constraints before you commit.
Not sure about frame size or artwork? Send a photo and describe what you’re after. Most orders start as a quick conversation.
You Can Order Just One
No minimum. Order a single gable for one upcoming event, or test branded marquees before rolling out across a fleet. You don’t need to commit to a full run to get started.
It also means re-branding is cheap. If your club changes its logo or a sponsor arrangement wraps up, you order new gable panels rather than replacing the marquee itself.
